A few of us went for a hike last Saturday. For some, it was tiring.

Last Tuesday was great. Tons of energy with these middle schoolers and they're already proving to be an absolute riot.

Unfortunately this week all that could change. It's time to break out the game of games and frankly, we leaders aren't convinced this bunch can handle it...

Plunge. Kick off Time.

School's been going in some places for almost a month. Others have only been rockin' for a week or more.

I've had the itch to start our Tuesday night gatherings for a while and I really, really can't wait for this season of the Plunge.

Our focus this year is on becoming more disciplined disciples and like the rest of The River our attention will be given to exploring the ins and outs (speaking of in-n-out, check out their site. Seriously, how good does a double, double sound right now?) of prayer.

My question for you parents and middle schoolers as we start the year: what would a whole bunch of middle school prayer ninjas tearin' up the streets look like?

Did I say, "I can't wait for the Plunge to start" yet?

Huntington Beach - Saturday, August 23

We're going to the beach! Leavin' church at 10 am. We're planning on doing dinner around a fire pit and leaving shortly after that (7 pm-ish).

Bring towel, sunscreen, a sack lunch, water, water toys, and whatever else you like bringing to the beach.

Tomorrow we're going to Tanner's House and I can't wait. Woohoo!

Sharks and Minnows

So this past Tuesday we met up at the Shaw's House (They're cool. Go to youtube.com and look up Willy Shaw Show).

We ate. We swam. We played some serious sharks and minnows. And we spent some time hearing from God in Deutoronomy 6:4-8.

Our last summer gathering will be next week, August 19 at the Jorritstma's place. Take a suit and a towel and let's do this thing.
